OUR STORY

Columbine Cody has been recognized as a leader in design and product innovation in the bedding industry since the introduction of our signature line of Matelasse over 15 years ago. While Matelasse is a common term in today’s luxury bedding industry, it was relatively unheard of when we entered the U.S. market in 1991. Our product was the first of its kind, embracing the exquisite beauty and quality of European Matelasse at a price that was attractive to the American consumer. The quality craftsmanship we offer is made possible because the Portuguese have painstakingly combined the construction techniques for Matelasse, which originated in the French court in the 1800s, with the techniques learned from Italian artisans, who perfected the development of Matelasse for home furnishing use. Our Matelasse is constructed on special looms in hand-selected factories in Portugal.

We are now turning heads again with a wonderful new line of Classic Chenille bedspreads and SKAL certified organic cotton bedding products. At the same time we are still continuing to focus on our Portuguese Matelasse.

WHAT WE OFFER

We have partnerships with factories through out the world. We continue to make sure that they are of the finest quality and meet Columbine Cody’s highest performance standards. Our product line now encompasses Matelasse coverlets, bedspreads, draperies and accessories, Chenille bedspreads & accessories, cotton sheeting, duvets, blankets, and our new line of organic bedding products - all of which are made from the finest quality natural fibers and exclusively for Columbine Cody. These factories are an extension of our own company, reflecting our philosophy of providing the best value possible while offering the finest quality fashion bedding at an affordable price.

We offer our customers the option of importing directly or warehousing merchandise and buying on a weekly basis or as product is needed. We offer EDI, pre-ticketing and private label packaging programs for today’s competitive retail environment. We are also quickly becoming a leader in the .com business due to our ability to drop ship within 48 hours.

On the creative side, we work closely with our accounts, their buyers and in house designers, to develop the products that are unique to the style and color preferences of their customers. We establish close working relationships with our key customers, often sharing design concepts and collaborating on product ideas. In the true spirit of a creative consortium, we encourage customers to use our staff as a sounding board for their ideas as well.
